The legalization of Cannabis in California will undoubtedly have an impact on the wine industry, but in what ways?
The Wine & Weed symposium will explore, in depth, what the California wine industry can expect the impact to be over the next year and what opportunities, as well as threats, will exist.
This one-day event features experts from both industries, providing an overview of the cannabis industry as well as topics ranging from what is legal and new cannabis products to regulations surrounding licensing, hospitality, growing and other topics of interest.
The symposium also features a limited number of tabletop exhibitors and sponsors along with a beautiful outdoor buffet lunch specially prepared by the Hyatt Vineyard Creek Chef.
The day will conclude with a networking social featuring selected wines and paired hors d'oeuvres.

The day will kick-off with opening remarks from California State Senator Mike McGuire, "The North Coast is the epicenter for cannabis cultivation in America and it has been critical that as state regulations are implemented, the North Coast is driving the conversation."

This interactive session will address questions regarding what’s permitted and what's not, along with licensing, reporting requirements and expected costs.
Growing cannabis commercially can be very profitable, but beyond the licensing requirements, what other hurdles exist? What other new cannabis products are available and driving revenue for the industry?
This session will not only explore the opportunities and challenges a vineyard owner might expect if considering adding commercial cannabis to their farming operations, it will also examine other products in the market that potentially compete for attention with wine consumers.

A panel of wine industry professionals will share their stories about how their careers evolved to include cannabis. Learn what attracted them, what they’ve experienced, and the similarities they see both industries share.
Is cannabis a potential friend or foe to wine? Will wineries see a decline in visitors and dollars spent or an influx of potential new customers?
A panel of cannabis industry leaders will share their thoughts on why the passing of Proposition 64 is also good for the wine industry and that a collaborative mindset can create an “All Ships Rise with the Tide” scenario for wine regions throughout the state. The panel will also address threats, such as the competition for consumers, labor, and water.
